The movie was produced on a small budget, and it wasn't released in the United States until 2006. It was directed by Cess Silvera, whose most recent project is the TV series Bottle Girls. The film was produced in Jamaica (with some filming also being done in Florida) in 2002 and boasts the producing involvement of reggae music star Wyclef Jean. Then it's back to Miami again, where they face off against both the police and other criminal king pins. They soon export their criminal activities to Miami, but when things get too hot there, they head back to Jamaica. The film follows the misadventures of Biggs and Wayne, two young men who get their start in a life of crime by robbing and shooting a truck driver in Jamaica while they're still kids. But they're soon back in Miami causing trouble. They move their crime enterprise to their island home. In the crime thriller Shottas, two Jamaican drug dealers are deported from the United States.
